In the story of the Sleeping Beauty (written by Charles Perrault in 1697), a spell is placed on the princess that when she reaches her 16th birthday, she will "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die".

verse in John chapter 3 (probably the most famous, most often quoted verses in the New Testament) which reads: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

16 is such a prominent number. for a teenager, it's a monumental year. for a hip hop artist, it's the measure of one's craft. for the king of France, it was his downfall. for Sleeping Beauty, her demise. for the Brat-Pack, it was the beginning of quintessential movies of a generation.

16. for mankind, it's the verse that brings hope to all mankind. love. sacrifice. belief. salvation. it's the verse of life for you and me and all the world.
